HISTORY

Tui Jugs – Legacy Range

A Piece of New Zealand Design History

The Tui Jug forms part of the Forest and Fauna series, a celebrated collection of New Zealand studio ceramics inspired by native wildlife. The tūī bird, known for its distinctive song and iridescent feathers, has long been a symbol of Aotearoa’s natural environment.

Designed by Bruce Yallop, an artist trained within the Crown Lynn tradition, the Tui Jug reflects the continuation of New Zealand ceramic craftsmanship after the original Crown Lynn factory era. These designs became household favourites, blending practical use with expressive, character-led form.

Today, original pieces are highly collectable and continue to be cherished in New Zealand homes. Learn more about the heritage.

Continuing the Crown Lynn Legacy

This piece is produced by Crown Lynn Kiwi as part of the ongoing Legacy Range, preserving and reinterpreting iconic New Zealand ceramic designs for a new generation of collectors and homes.
